The Glassboro Orchid Club: $500 Scholarship & $100 Book Awards.

Criteria: African American students who plan to attend a 2 or 4 yr. college (proof of enrollment is required). The applicant must be single. Letters of recommendation, an essay, transcript and financial information are required. Recipients are required to attend a Scholarship Luncheon. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline is April 6th, 2012.

New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association

 

Each school may nominate 1 senior. Interested student should submit a resume including all school activities and leadership positions held. This is geared for activities OTHER THAN SPORTS. Deadline is April 20th, 2012. Any interested senior should drop resume’ off in guidance.

ETS Scholarships

Awards up to $5,000 for NJ high school seniors who plan on pursuing further education. This is open to students pursuing a vocational/technical career or a 2 or 4 year degree from any accredited school/college/university in the Unites States. AUSTIN H. SWACKHAMER & FLORENCE V. SWACKHAMER SCHOLARSHIP FUND


This trust fund was established to provide scholarships for high school seniors who are attending a high school in Gloucester County, NJ. The Center for Scholarship Administration, Inc. is the facilitator of the scholarship fund. The deadline to apply online is March 19, 2012. Interested applicants may apply online at

Who is eligible for the scholarship?

1. Applicants must be Christian males

2. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

NJUA: New Jersey Utilities AssociationScholarships

Each year, NJUA awards theNJUA Excellence in Diversity Scholarshipto qualified and deserving New Jersey high school seniors who meet the eligibility criteria. In 2012, the Association will award two (2) four year scholarships providing $1,500 per academic year to the students selected by our NJUA Scholarship Committee.


In 2012, NJUA is awarding the NJUA Trade and Vocational School Scholarship to a qualified student who will be pursuing a Trade or Vocational degree at an accredited school. The scholarship is valued at up to a total of $6,000 depending on the total cost of the program to be applied to tuition only.

TheJames R. Leva Scholarshipis sponsored by NJUA to assist NJUA member company employees who are employed in New Jersey or a member of their family in pursuing their higher education goals. The scholarship is named for James R. Leva, Jersey Central Power and Light executive and NJUA President from 1990-1991, whose professional achievements can serve as a model for those who seek to advance themselves professionally through continuing education.

The New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Water Companies is offering two (2) $2,500 scholarships to high school students who will be attending a New Jersey college or university and is interested in the water utility industry or any related field. The Milton Fisher Scholarship for Creativity and Innovation

This Scholarship is awarded to students who show the most promise as innovative, creative problem solvers, on the basis of their essays, letters of recommendation, and other information included with the application. After determining the award, the Scholarship offers up to $20,000 over four years, based on need. The Scholarship aims to honor innovative students and to help make their higher education goals more accessible. The Scholarship is available for High School Juniors and Seniors, and College Freshmen. 2012-2013$1,000 NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Tzu Chi Scholars is a scholarship program funded by Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation to recognize and provide financial assistance to outstanding college-bound high school graduates. Tzu Chi Scholars are selected on the basis of their financial need, academic achievement, and community involvement. Each Scholar will receive an award of $1,000. A small number of Scholars may be further recognized for a four-year total scholarship award of up to $4,000 if certain eligibility requirements and criteria are met. In Chinese, “tzu” means compassion and “chi” means relief. Founded in 1966 by Dharma Master Cheng Yen, the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation has dedicated itself to the areas of charitable services, medical services, education and environmental protection. Guided by the four basic Buddhist principles of kindness, compassion, joy, and unselfish giving, Tzu Chi strives to ease suffering on earth and to inspire compassion in others by promoting community volunteerism, both locally and internationally. Through sincerity, integrity, trust, and honesty, Tzu Chi volunteers serve all who need assistance, regardless of race, ethnicity, or religion. AAA South Jerseyis sponsoring its annual essay contest for local high school seniors. The winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship toward a two-or-four year accredited educational institution. The contest is open to all high school seniors attending school in Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester or Salem counties. Entry forms are available at AAA South Jersey offices in Voorhees, Sewell, Logan Township and Millville, as well as Royal Travel in Vineland. David Michael Reid Foundation

Student must be nominated by high school. Any interested candidates please stop in guidance. Student must have “stellar history” of academic performance. Applicants who show a significant improvement front first year or two in high school will also be considered. SAT scores of 100 (critical reading & math), participation in extra-curricular activities, contributor to his/her community and financial need are also considered. Deadline is March 15th, 2012.

NAWC- National Association of Water Companies

Eligibility Requirements:

 

This is a $2500 scholarship. Students must: (a) Be a United States citizen, (b) Be a resident of New Jersey and have lived in the state for at least five years, (c) Be a high school senior or college student intending to pursue a degreeat a New Jersey college or university(two- or four-year) as an undergraduate or graduate student (part-or full-time), and (d) Be maintaining at least 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale. New Jersey Elks

Two scholarships (one male and one female) for a graduating senior who has demonstrated excellent scholastic standing, general worthiness, financial need, and a physical and/r mental disability including learning disabilities. Amount is up to $2500 annual for up to 4 years. Application is available in guidance. Deadline is April 1st, 20121.

Frank Baldachino Essay Scholarship

Students must meet the following criteria: (a) minimum of B+ average; (b) ranked in top 25% of class and/or (c) ACT score of 24 or and SAT score of 1100 ( critical reading and math). Applicant must have participated in two sports for two years in each sport and earned at least 1 varsity letter in each of the 2 sports. For more information please stop in guidance.
