To the Glassboro School Community:
Welcome to Glassboro Public Schools for an academic year focused on our continuing quest to raise student achievement. We are also squarely focused on curricular enhancements that are aligned to common core and the model curriculum.
This year, the school district offers a new academy for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). We are bringing back afterschool activities and activity buses to Bowe. The GHS golf team returns as a co-op sports program with Clayton High School.
The district continues to invest in new textbooks, technology and safety. Solar power is providing tax dollar savings. Classroom libraries are expanding at Rodgers. This year’s budget includes funding for interactive technology including activity tables at Rodgers and Bowe, touch screens at GHS, GIS and Bowe and projectors at GHS and GIS. The district is also beginning the installation of cameras and switching additional doors to keyless access for security.
The district continues to follow QSAC recommendations by adding intervention specialists to meet the needs of our students.
Active planning is ongoing for our March 2014 capital referendum to address long-term needs that cannot be funding through the operating budget. I encourage you to learn more about the referendum by reading the information on the referendum section of our website. This is available by clicking the underlined link in this paragraph or selecting the referendum link from the shortcuts listed on the left side of the Glassboro School District Website.
The Board of Education’s sound fiscal management has enabled the district to once again remain under the state cap. With your participation, we will continue to meet our Strategic Plan Goals and assess district needs. We continue to make Glassboro Schools the place where our children will prepare for a lifetime of success.
